Terrys Cycle - History Collage

Terry & Marlene Pierce opened the business in April of 1968 as a small family run operation, which it remains to this day. Upon their retirement in April of 1992, Marence & Charlene Pierce took over the reins and shortly after were joined by their sons Worthy (Sales) and Terry (Service).

“We’re basically a small town dealership that provides the after hour services that small town dealerships are known for. Working with my parents for those 24 years are is something I will never regret and now I enjoy working with my wife and our sons. I started working here after school when the shop opened, at the age of 14, which consequently is the same age our oldest granddaughter Jayla was when she started working here after school, so in a sense we are a 4th Generation family business.”

When Terry’s first opened, we sold short line farm equipment which included Roll-o-flex cultivators, Westfield harrows, Allied & Brandt grain augers, Leon Rock pickers, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Wisconsin engines and Sno*Jet snowmobiles. We had a radiator shop and of course we worked on everything from small engines to automobiles to grain trucks to really whatever would fit through the overhead doors. In 1971 we added the Yamaha dealership, which means we’ve been a Yamaha dealer for over 50 years and are currently one of Yamaha Canada’s Five Oldest Yamaha Dealerships!

Despite being one of Yamaha Canada’s smallest dealerships, over the years Terry’s Cycle has been recognized by Yamaha as a Five Star Dealership, which at the time was Yamaha’s Highest Recognition! Which reflects how small town businesses look after their customers, particularly in our small market where our customers become part of our family & friends.

During the past year of business, Yamaha replaced the Five Star designation with two new categories starting with the Performance 360 and the Elite recognition. We’re proud to say that we were awarded the Highest honor with the Elite group of which we were 1 of only 23 dealers across Canada that were chosen. Only five dealerships from Western Canada which included Manitoba thru to British Columbia, were so honored. A lot of credit goes out to our customers that gave Yamaha excellent feedback so Thank you! Also I can’t stress enough how much our son’s efforts contributed to Happy customers!

Terry’s Yamaha riders have won Provincial Championships on pavement racing YSR’s, won multiple races on the snow, Western Canadian Watercraft Championships racing Yamaha Wave Runners, Motocross Provincial Championships in SK & MB, North Dakota MX State Championships as well as top 3 finishes in Canadian National Championship events. So it didn’t matter if it was on pavement, dirt, snow or water, our riders had success riding their Terry’s Yamaha’s to victory! Of course we’re the first to admit, in competition it’s 99% rider’s God given ability that wins the races....but it never hurts to be on a brand that has a dealership to back up your every needs!

We’ve hosted successful Yamaha Demo Ride Days for Motorcycles, All Terrain and Snowmobiles, though the Snowmobile ones have been cancelled usually due to the lack of snow....and of course currently Yamaha has had to put their Demo Rides on hold for the time being, for obvious reasons.

So whether you’re looking for a new Yamaha ATV, Side by Side, Motorcycle, Snowmobile, Generator, Water Pump or parts for your existing set of wheels, Terry’s Cycle offers long time expertise in an inviting atmosphere to help serve your needs.
